Dr. G. Keith Letts O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr Letts, originally from Treherne, graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1970. In 1973, Dr. Letts received his fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Letts served as president of the Manitoba Association of Optometrists in 1981as well as spending several terms as a council member. Dr. & Mrs. Letts have enjoyed raising both their children in Killarney and they continue to be involved with community events. Dr. Letts enjoys whittling away his leisure hours carving birds, many of which are displayed throughout the Optometric Centre.

Dr. Candace DeCock O.D., MS
Dr. DeCook grew up on a farm near Mylo, North Dakota. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2005. In 2009, she completed her Doctor of Optometry and Master of Science in Vision Science degrees at The Ohio State University. Her husband is originally from Killarney and that is what has led her to practice at the Killarney Optometric Centre. Dr. DeCock and her husband have one son and look forward to raising him in the community. She enjoys tinkering around on the piano and guitar and spending her free time with her family.

Gail Fisher
Licenced Optician (1999)
Certified Optometric Technician (1985)
Gail began working at the Optometric Centre in 1979. Since that time she has obtained certification as an Optometric Assistant and later as an Optometric Technician. In 1999 she obtained her license as a dispensing Optician and has served in several capacities on the executive of the Manitoba Paraoptometric Association over the years. Gail has lived in the Killarney area all her life, is married and has two grown children. She and her husband spent many hours at the rink watching their daughter figure skate and their son play hockey. Gail now enjoys golfing, slow pitch, playing hockey, and has recently taken up camping (with all the luxuries!).

Liana Bessant
Certified Optometric Technician (1990)
As well as obtaining certification as an Optometric Assistant, then as an Optometric Technician, Liana has served on the executive of the Manitoba Paraoptometric Association at different times since 1982. Liana is originally from Boissevain, Mb. She is married, and along with her husband they operate a mixed farm with purebred shorthorn cattle and a small engine repair business at their home near Dunrea, Mb. Liana has 2 children. Morgan is attending Lakeland College in Vermilion, AB. She is taking Animal Health Technology. Reid is in grade 11. He enjoys playing sports, especially basketball. Liana and her family enjoy snow-mobiling, quading and getting together with friends around the bonfire in summer.

Barb Nichol
Certified Optometric Assistant (1994)
Barb grew up in Killarney, is married, has two children and five grandchildren. She and her husband live in Killarney and their interests include spending time with their children and grandchildren, pontooning on the lake in the summer and the occasional golf game. They have enjoyed renovating several homes over the years including their present home on "The Bay". Barb has been involved in the Manitoba Paraoptometric Association serving in various positions since starting at the Optometric Centre in 1990.

Laurie Bartley
Assistant
Laurie began work at the Optometric Centre in 1973. She and her husband live on and operate a farm near Killarney. They have two grown children. Gardening and spending time outdoors have always been a favorite pass time; although the births of her grandchildren since 2009 have definitly changed her priorities. Being a grandma is too much fun!

Mary Jane Stimpson
Assistant
Mary Jane has been employed at the Optometric Centre since 2002 and is currently working part time. She enjoys spending time on the weekends and holidays at their cabin on Pelican Lake. Her hobbies include gardening, photography and card making.

Paige Moffat
Assistant
Paige was born in Killarney hospital and grew up on her family farm outside of town. She now lives on her own in Killarney and started working at the Optometric Centre in May 2010. She is currently starting to become a Certified Optometric Assistant, and is fascinated with the field of Optometry. She likes to experiment with cooking and baking, and loves taking her dog Maggie for long walks, sometimes followed by Ginger the cat.

Kathy Turner
Assistant
Kathy is the latest assistant to join the Optometric Center. She moved from Gimli with her husband in February 2011. She enjoys yoga, reading and cake decorating.
